Terms of Service

Effective date: July 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the YourPlaceholder platform, its APIs, and the YourPlaceholder WordPress plugin (together, the "Service"), operated by YourPlaceholder ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

YourPlaceholder turns data sources you configure — APIs, RSS/Atom feeds, structured web pages, webhooks, and (on eligible plans) rendered web pages — into normalized JSON endpoints, with optional scheduling, webhooks, AI-assisted rewriting, and WordPress publishing.

2. Your responsibility for extraction targets

You choose what the Service accesses. When you configure a URL, feed, API, or proxy, you are solely responsible for ensuring that accessing and using that source is lawful and permitted — including the source's terms of service, robots directives, copyright and database rights, API licensing, rate limits, and any applicable data-protection law. We provide the tooling; we do not review, endorse, or take responsibility for the sources you configure or the content you extract. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your extraction targets and your use of extracted content.

3. Accounts and API keys

4. Plans, billing, limits

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to: break the law; access systems without authorization; collect personal data unlawfully; distribute malware; harass; send spam; or place unreasonable load on target sites or our infrastructure. We may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that endanger the Service or other users.

6. Your content and data

Extracted data belongs to you subject to the rights of the underlying sources. Your endpoint configurations remain yours; templates you publish publicly may be copied by other users as designed. We may remove public templates that violate these Terms.

7. WordPress plugin

The YourPlaceholder WordPress plugin is licensed under the GPL v2 (or later). Pro features of the plugin are unlocked by the plan of the connected platform account. The plugin communicates with our API to fetch your configured data and your account's plan status.

8. Availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and extraction success inherently depends on third-party sources we do not control. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for claims arising from your extraction targets (see Section 2).

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Sections 2, 6, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and disputes are subject to the competent courts of Romania, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
